Designed for use with the 7-pod AeroGarden Classic growing system and the AeroGarden 6, this garden starter tray is a fast, simple, clean and foolproof seed starter that allows gardeners to get a jump on the outdoor growing season. The tray starts up to 70 seedlings at once. Just plant seeds in the starter tray indoors and put them in either the 7-pod AeroGarden Classic growing system or the AeroGarden 6 (sold separately) with no dirt and no mess! The specially designed tray uses biodegradable, nutrient-rich growing media, providing just the right amount of light, water and nutrients for fast germination and healthy root development. Seedlings are ready to transplant to outdoor gardens or containers in just 2 to 6 weeks. Once starts have matured, it’s easy to transplant them into an outdoor garden when weather allows. The purchase includes nutrients for a full set of seedlings (refills available separately).

I got this for Christmas and decided to wait and start my seeds for my garden and window boxes. I set it up on Sunday and by Tuesday I was seeing green. It’s been less than 1 week and almost all of the 70 pods have some growth. Some of these seeds took weeks to sow the traditional way. I covered the tray with plastic wrap, I have had to use tooth picks to lift it off the plants. Just use the lights during the day (lite up my whole house at night). I have not noticed any unpleasant smells. It’s great, a bit expensive but worth it to get up expensive seeds.
I love my aerogarden. I’ve got a first kit and love to have fresh herbs to cook with. The gaden starter tray is awesome. It’s now 2 weeks that I have put the seeds in. A mix of veggies, annual and perrenial. I cannot wait to put them in my garden/yards.
I just love the aerogrow and am pleased to say in spite of the bad reviews i am pleased with the plugs.
I have been able to start all sorts of plants I was unable to before such as petunias and have transplanted them with no trouble into either pots or the garden some without even hardening off first which is a real no no.
I have just ordered the refill plugs and am anxious to start planting more.
